Blue Mallow Flower Powder (Malva sylvestris)

This beautiful purple flower has been turned in to a powder. Although the powder is a purple/grey to in colour …. the magic happens when you add moisture. Hot water makes it turn blue, cold water turns purple.

Tea – Wonderful by itself or added to your favourite combination of tea leaves. If you add lemon juice the tea will turn from blue to pink.

Milk – Great to make purple milkshakes or lovely for a fun blue warm milk.

Bath – Mallow has benefits to the skin and can be added to the bath. If you have a long soak the colour will be fade. (If you would like your bath to stay blue, use our blue pea flower that turns your water blue, happily not you or the bath though. We wouldn’t want you to look like a smurf)

Craft – Traditionally this was used as a natural plant dye and will dye fabric shades of blue/purple/pink. Please remember to use a fixer when fabric dyeing.

Cake decorations – Natural cake sprinkles if you are looking for a spooky purple/grey dusting. Please be aware that if you mix with butter icing the purple colour will fade over night.

We work with a cooperative of farmers in India who grow these flowers. All our crops are ethically and sustainable farmed. We make sure everybody is paid correctly and supported.

Packed in airtight, light resistant, re-sealable & recyclable bags that allow some of the powder to be used while the remainder can be stored in a cool place for future use.

The bags are carefully wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a cardboard postage box making this an ideal gift.
